The bartender represents the restaurant and the hotel and understands our philosophy that patrons/guests come to us to connect with others around the food and beverage we serve. Essential Job Functions - Welcome guests to Ladder 13, quickly build a relationship.
- Assist the guest through their beverage (and food) decision making.
- Have a master understanding of the cocktail recipes, wine list, beers, and food menu items.
- Consistently prepare drinks per Ladder 13's standards.
- Organize bar and back of house areas in a clean and disciplined manner supporting a busy bar, including prep work.
- Accurately input orders, including modifiers, into Toast, the POS of Ladder 13.
- Accurately and timely perform opening and closing procedures along with side work as assigned.
- Follow proper procedure regarding cash handling, following cash bank reconciliation and end of shift drop.
- Maintain a clean bar, work space, and inventory areas.
- Know and comply with food handling and liquor laws.
- Adhere to Ladder 13's uniform (clothing) standards.
- Assist food and beverage team as situations arise.
- Follow procedures as it relates to modifiers, guest recovery, complaints, etc.
- Be a great teammate to servers, bartenders, and colleagues.
Experience and Education: Previous experience as a bartender or barback
Experience with cocktail creation, understanding of wines and beer.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
Certifications as required by Federal, State, or Local agencies
ServSafe, TIPS Certification
Minimum High school diploma, GED or equivalent
