Job Description

Electrical Engineer Our client a leading consulting engineering firm based on Long Island is looking to hire a highly motivated Staff Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to support our growing list of electrical engineering projects in the New York Metropolitan Area. The ideal candidate will have experience with AutoCAD software, electrical design experience, and Microsoft Package Suite. Preference for candidates with prior working experience in municipal and infrastructure facilities. This role will include providing technical design services under the direction of a senior engineer with a focus on electrical engineering design. Candidate must have reliable transportation and be willing to drive throughout NYC Metro Area. Requirements • Basin Knowledge of Electrical Engineering, drafting and design (1 to 3 years) • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or approved equal. Flexible schedule for engineer student pursing last year. • EIT a plus or ability to obtain it • Familiarity with NEC Electrical Code, Building Codes, and local laws • Electrical power distribution design experience. • Proficient in Microsoft, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, etc. • Must have a NYS Driver’s License or nearby state • Previous AutoCAD experience, knowledge of shop drawings, and drafting practices. Key Skills • Strong understanding of Electrical Engineering and the general construction industry. • Communicate clearly in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups. • Strong computer skills for communication, organization, and design. Job Functions • Work closely with senior engineering staff, management, and other disciplines. • Perform engineering design evaluations and lead project engineering design specific to Electrical Engineering • Work on the engineering design and coordination of various projects, with an emphasis on water resources engineering projects. • Perform design calculations, drafting of construction drawings, and prepare technical specifications. • Construction oversight and field inspections for quality control assurance process.
