Job Summary

Conducts fitness assessments, personal training sessions, performance training sessions, and/or sport specific analysis through one-on-one appointments and group appointments.
\n\n
Job Specific Duties
\n\n
\n\t - Instructs and demonstrates to pediatric clients the proper use of cardiovascular and strength equipment.
\n\t - Promotes safe technique and form when weight training; emphasizes fitness area policies and conduct.
\n\t - Develops unique and individualized programs that ensure client safety, satisfaction, and enhancement of personal fitness goals.
\n\t - Educates members and demonstrates proper use of equipment and fitness techniques related to strength training, conditioning, injury prevention, and sports medicine.
\n\t - Educates members and/or guests on NCHS policies and procedures.
\n\t - Ensures all equipment is functioning properly and safely by maintaining and cleaning the machines.
\n\t - Evaluates individual's abilities, needs, and physical conditions to develop suitable training program to meet any special requirements. Discusses health and fitness goals.
\n\t - Maintains detailed and accurate records of client information; provides regular weekly appointment schedule.
\n\t - Conducts special pediatric screenings including; ACL, Running, Overhead Athlete, Golf, and Dance screenings. Identifies high risk athletes and implements appropriate program to reduce risk.
\n\t - Properly utilizes motion analysis equipment to implement ACL, Overhead Athlete, and Dance screenings, and tracks results and progress accordingly.
\n\t - Develops and instructs fitness and performance exercise plans for personal and group participants. Assesses and tracks development, reevaluating as necessary.

Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements

\n\n
\n\t - Bachelor's Degree in exercise science or other relevant health and wellness profession (OR) Certification as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, or Certified strength and conditioning specialist(CSCS) from a regionally recognized and third party accredited certification organization (i.e., ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA)
\n\t - American Heart Association BLS required within 7 days of hire - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
\n\t - Prior experience as a personal trainer or fitness instructor
\n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
\n\n
\n\n
\n\t - 1-3 years experience as a personal trainer or fitness instructor preferred
\n\t - Able to work during peak hours which may include mornings and evenings
\n\t - Comprehensive understanding of current health and fitness standards and principles
\n\t - Extensive knowledge of health and fitness equipment
