Job Description

A leading transportation and logistics organization is expanding its operations and seeking an experienced Fleet Safety Manager to strengthen compliance programs and drive a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Position Overview

The Fleet Safety Manager will oversee all DOT and FMCSA compliance initiatives , ensuring that fleet operations meet and exceed federal, state, and internal safety standards. This leader will develop training programs, monitor compliance data, and serve as a key liaison between operations and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain DOT/FMCSA compliance programs , including DQ files, hours of service (HOS), electronic logging devices (ELDs), vehicle inspections, and IFTA/IRP documentation
  • Conduct safety audits and support regulatory inspections
  • Investigate compliance or incident issues and drive corrective action plans
  • Update policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes
  • Develop and deliver driver and staff training focused on safety awareness and accountability
  • Track and present compliance metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities to leadership

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in transportation safety, fleet compliance, or risk management
  • In-depth knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations
  • Proven ability to lead teams, implement compliance systems, and foster safety-first culture
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; professional certifications (CCEP, CRCM, or equivalent) a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
