Job Summary
The Geology Department in the College of Science offers a range of courses and degree programs that advance understanding of Earths composition, structure, and processes. Under general supervision, the Geology Support Technician provides comprehensive instructional and technical support for the departments lecture, laboratory, research, and field activities. While primarily supporting the Geology Department, this position may also assist other departments within the College of Science as needed. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing scientific equipment; managing the ordering, purchasing, and inventory of laboratory materials; training and assisting students and faculty in laboratory and field procedures; and ensuring compliance with environmental, chemical, and safety standards. The technician also contributes to the development of instructional materials, organization of geological collections and displays, and coordination of field activities.
