Injection Mold Designer / Engineer – Shape the Future of Precision Tooling Our client, a long-standing leader in precision injection mold manufacturing, is seeking a highly skilled Injection Mold Designer to join their team. This role offers hands‑on involvement in complex mold design projects and direct collaboration with internal engineering leadership and customers. For the right candidate, this position offers a clear growth path toward a lead mold designer role, with increasing ownership and leadership responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Lead injection mold engineering projects of varying scope, collaborating with customers and internal teams. Establish processing windows, cycle times, tool cavitation, expected yields, lead times, and tool cost estimates. Review hot runner/manifold designs from suppliers and ensure technical accuracy. Support troubleshooting and resolution of tooling quality issues. Provide regular project updates to management. Conduct and/or review qualitative and quantitative analyses, documenting work according to internal standards. Coordinate engineering activities and communicate effectively with leadership, customers, and vendors. Create well‑organized and detailed prints, 3D models, and parts lists for manufacturing. Contribute to process and workflow improvements within the engineering department. Ideal Candidate Profile 10+ years of experience in injection mold design, assembly, processing, and troubleshooting. Expertise with medium to high‑cavity unscrewing, strip, and side‑action injection molds. Experience running and troubleshooting molding machines is preferred. Strong working knowledge of hot runner and manifold systems. Advanced CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, CADKEY, or equivalent). Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Basic understanding of machining processes and finishing techniques (plating, anodizing, powder coating, etc.). Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑driven mindset. Education Requirements B.S. in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mold/Tool Design, or equivalent. Technical training or drafting certification preferred. Salaries & Benefits Base salary: $150,000.00/yr – $200,000.00/yr. Annual bonus. Semi‑annual performance bonus (paid every 6 months). Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contributions.
