Base pay range

$180,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr

Purpose of the Position

AeroDynamic Advisory is looking for a Senior Associate Consultant / Principal to be based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The successful candidate will work with the worlds leading aviation and aerospace companies, from the largest to small and mid-cap companies, all with interesting and challenging strategic issues. The Senior Associate Consultant will expect to develop domain expertise by focusing exclusively on aerospace projects and learning all corners of the aerospace ecosystems. Staffs are also encouraged to take the initiative to become subject matter experts in a segment of the industry and expand the firms collective knowledge and understanding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project management through establishing project plans, forming hypotheses, making assignments to team, executing project plan, reviewing work outputs, and communicating with clients.
  • Engage with clients to gather and interpret data in support of the projects; conduct market research, perform both quantitative and qualitative analysis, and develop analytical and financial models to support related research and insights.
  • Lead intellectual capital and thought leadership initiatives and be a subject matter expert on a particular market segment.
  • Support professional development of younger consultants in the firm by providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and develop industry relationships.

Year One Critical Success Factors

  • Demonstrate a clear ability to manage multiple projects (3 to 5 at various phases) at a given time.
  • Establish rapport and trust with internal team members, clients, and other external stakeholders.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the key project deliverables and the companys intellectual capital; be capable of managing medium-sized engagements with minimal oversight.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior consultants/associates and offer guidance as and when necessary.

The Candidate

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience and Qualifications

  • Possess over 7 years full-time work experience in a corporate or consulting setting. Candidates with 10-15 years experience may also be considered for a Principal position.
  • Experience within the aerospace industry is highly preferred (eg. Manufacturing, MRO, private equity, investment banking), or assignments spanning market assessments, strategy, and/or transaction diligence.
  • Demonstrated strong performance in academics or current role, including exceptional research and analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
  • Proactive team member with strong time management discipline; comfortable with managing up to 3-5 project assignments at a given time.
  • Brings strong professional experience across one or more of the following sectors:
  • Large management consulting firms with a substantial aviation/aerospace and defense management practice.
  • Aviation or aerospace organizations that are well regarded and considered to be analytically oriented; strong with effective internal consulting, strategy, or optimization groups.
  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
  • Willing to travel 20-30% on average (more travel may be required during certain periods).

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor or Masters degree holder in a problem-solving, quantitative, and critical reasoning discipline such as Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, etc.
