We’re seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Content Writer to join our team on a 6-month contract. In this role, you’ll be responsible for writing engaging, on-brand short-form video scripts for platforms like TikTok, Pinterest, and Instagram , collaborating closely with our client’s in-house content creator to bring ideas to life.

In addition to scriptwriting, you may also support digital content needs such as product descriptions and email copywriting .

This role offers a flexible schedule of 20–35 hours per week , with occasional in-person collaboration required at our client’s midtown Toronto office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write compelling and concise video scripts tailored for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Pinterest content.
• Work closely with the client’s content creator to align on creative direction, tone, and visual storytelling.
• Brainstorm and pitch content ideas based on platform trends, seasonal promotions, and brand goals.
• Adapt brand voice and tone across different content formats.
• Write clear, benefits-driven product descriptions optimized for digital platforms.
• Create engaging and conversion-focused email copy when needed.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in social media copywriting or content writing (ideally with short-form video).
• Strong understanding of social media trends, especially TikTok and Instagram Reels.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to tone, audience, and clarity.
• Experience collaborating with creatives and content teams.
• Knowledge of digital marketing best practices, including SEO and email strategy, is a plus.
• Ability to work both independently and in person at the client’s Toronto office as required.

Additional Information:

• This is a contract role for 6 months, with potential for extension.
• Must be based in Toronto or able to commute to Midtown Toronto for in-person collaboration.
• Flexible weekly hours: 20–35 hours depending on content volume and project needs.
