American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Belleville, Illinois.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring an IL RN license and strong critical care skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
  • Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week (18:45-7:15)
  • Patient ratio is 1:3
  • Patient population includes trauma, cardiac events, pediatrics, sexual assault, and mental health cases
  • Procedures include central and arterial line insertion, chest tubes, intubation, post-cardiac arrest hypothermia, and code response (stroke, STEMI, blue)
  • May float between Belleville and East facilities as well as inpatient floors as needed
  • Mandatory every other weekend shifts required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Responsibilities include care for a diverse patient population, trauma response, and advanced emergency procedures
  • Work environment is Magnet-designated with 222 staffed beds
  • Scrub color required is navy
  • Travelers may be asked to float to cover other units within their scope
  • Completion of orientation modules is required prior to start, with up to 16 hours paid
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Travelers may stay for up to 18 months with a mandatory 3-month break afterwards

  • Active IL RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIH
  • CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the hospital
  • No first week RTO allowed; maximum of 7 days RTO permitted in a 13-week contract
  • Permanent employees must wait 1 year after leaving before returning as a traveler
