Position: Underground Utility Locator
Location: Various locations throughout the region
Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Underground Utility Locator. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive surveys to locate and identify underground utilities such as water, sewer, gas, and communication lines. Your work will help to prevent damages and disruptions to these utilities during construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Use various electronic instruments and equipment to accurately locate underground utilities
- Interpret utility maps and blueprints to determine the location of existing underground infrastructure
- Mark the location of utilities using paint or flags for construction crews to reference
- Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and utility companies to coordinate surveys and share information
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in utility locating or related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of utility symbols and markings
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
