The current salary range for this position is $128,310 - $188,370. The actual salary within this range offered depends on geography, skills, education, experience and other factors. Responsibilities Manage the operation of a Walgreens Pharmacy and provide pharmacy consulting services with empathy to patients regarding medication usage and interactions. Deliver preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcomes services. Ensure proper compounding, dispensing, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines and company policies. Ensure efficient pharmacy workflow, inventory management, and initiatives to enhance patient experience and pharmacy financials. Supervise pharmacy staff performance, engagement, training, coaching, and formal performance management initiatives. Oversee training, development, and career progression of pharmacy staff. Lead customer-facing activities to engage patients, resolve complaints, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience. Promote a shift from transactional to interpersonal pharmacy services by increasing awareness of healthcare services offered at Walgreens. Supervise store operations including opening/closing, scheduling, task delegation, and implementation of district feedback. Manage pharmacy financial controls, including cash handling, banking, and ledger maintenance. Plan and execute merchandising and promotions in the pharmacy area while ensuring patient education on medications, interactions, and privacy. Performs pharmacist tasks such as compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management as workload requires. Compliance: follow all policies, regulations, and procedures to maintain efficient workflow and staffing coordination. Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies and applicable state/federal laws when filling prescriptions. Monitor and manage inventory trends, ordering, stock levels, and supplier relationships to prevent outs and overstock. Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy technology systems to support patients and staff. Process insurance claims accurately and resolve patient issues, participating in third-party audits as needed. Coordinate with medical providers to clarify prescriptions, dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies; suggest alternatives when appropriate. Provide clinical and wellness services (e.g., immunizations, diagnostic testing, disease state management) and support centralized patient registration and issue resolution. Ensure pharmacy area is clean, maintained, and compliant with safety standards; address emergencies as they arise. Prepare, maintain, and submit required records, reports, and documentation in accordance with state and federal laws. Communicate regularly with team members, provide feedback, and foster an open management-to-non-management environment. Qualifications Basic Qualifications BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution. Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district. Certified Immunizer or willingness to become one within 90 days of hire. 1 year of pharmacy experience in a retail setting including prescription filling, verification, compliance, operations, software, and insurance. Experience performing dispensing activities with knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws. Preferred Qualifications Supervisory experience planning, organizing, and directing pharmacy staff. Leadership rating of 3.7+ on recent performance review (internal candidates).
